Minotaur

Overview

The Minotaur is an Eidolon summoned by Teija. Unlike the aggressive creature of mythology, this Minotaur is calm and meditative, often resting beneath tree foliage.

Mythological Connection

Teija discussed the Minotaur’s mythological origins with historian Abiram Okech, noting parallels between ancient myths and Asgarthan history. In mythology, Asterion was both an ancient king married to Europa and the name given to the Minotaur born from Pasiphaë and a white bull sent by Poseidon. Asgartha’s government building The Asterion shares this name.

Symbolic Significance

The Minotaur represents the hybrid nature of civilization—tangible creatures shaped by ideas, a marriage between the realms of the imaginary and the real, Oneiros and mortals. If legends are true, an age once existed when imaginary characters and humans could unite in this way.
