Parvati

Parvati is an Eidolon goddess who teaches concepts related to gender, identity, and self-expression through physical contact and mental projection. She is associated with the Hindu deity married to Shiva.

Appearance and Manifestation

Parvati appears as a uniquely beautiful woman. She displays a kind gaze and radiates soft warmth from her hand when touching someone. She manifests near water adorned with lily pads, with lotus flowers opening around her during teachings.

Teaching Method

Parvati teaches through physical contact and mental imagery. When placing a hand on someone’s cheek, she projects thousands of images directly into their mind. These images include visions of herself with her husband Shiva, showing their essences joining and mingling.

She encourages students to observe their reflections and guides them through understanding concepts about identity and self-expression. She provides teachings silently through transmitted images rather than spoken words.

Core Teaching

Parvati’s transmitted images convey that every being is ultimately a blend of feminine and masculine qualities. Her teaching emphasizes that one’s physical form does not define them - it is part of them, belongs to them, and serves as a canvas or playground. The body is presented as something individuals are free to express themselves through rather than being confined by.

Teaching Arjun

380 AC - River Encounter

Arjun bathed in a river where water widened and stagnated, adorned with lily pads. Standing naked in water that lapped against their navel, Arjun gazed thoughtfully at their reflection. A hand touched Arjun’s cheek.

Arjun found themself face to face with Parvati, at first perceiving her as a woman before recognizing her as an Eidolon. She watched Arjun with kind gaze, soft warmth radiating from her hand to their cheek. Through this contact, thousands of images projected in Arjun’s mind - Parvati and Shiva embracing, their essences joining and mingling.

As lotus flowers began opening around them, the images conveyed that every being is ultimately a blend of feminine and masculine. Parvati encouraged Arjun to observe their reflection again. Arjun saw that the reflection didn’t define them - it was part of them, belonged to them, was their playground. They were free to do whatever they liked with it. The body was not a prison but a canvas.

Arjun saw themself smiling, then explored their eyes, forehead, and shoulders that looked a bit too wide. They considered that with the right tunic they could soften shoulders, and with earrings could break the overly square lines of their jaw. Arjun was moved to tears as newfound sense of peace and excitement took root.
