Shenlong

Overview

Shenlong is a serpentine storm dragon Eidolon whose mane dances in the air as if it were the very embodiment of typhoons. It emerges from parted clouds in response to summons seeking fire from above, manifesting during hurricanes with lightning, thunder, and cyclonic winds.

Appearance

Shenlong appears as:

• Serpentine dragon figure glaring with intensity
• Horns glistening like motionless flames
• Mane dancing in air as embodiment of typhoon
• Form emerging from clouds parting like swelling sea
• Body surrounded by crackling lightning and rolling thunder

Storm Embodiment

Shenlong manifests as living incarnation of tempest, controlling or representing multiple weather phenomena:

• Rolling thunder (described as Shenlong’s growl)

The dragon demonstrates control over lightning and electrical phenomena, capable of striking with fire from above.

Summoning Conditions

In the documented summoning, Atsadi called upon the storm and everything moving within it while seeking fire from above. He presented what needed revival (Surge as flickering spark) while kneeling with raised hand, begging and praying before the cyclone, waiting to be struck by lightning.

Summoning History

385 AC - Reviving Surge for Atsadi

After Atsadi’s battle with Sun Wukong, the one-armed swordsman had overdrawn from Surge’s strength to become lightning for a fraction of a second, achieving victory but leaving Surge reduced to mere flickering spark struggling to exist. Fighting exhaustion and despondency, Atsadi summoned the storm and everything moving within it, seeking fire from above to revive his dying Alter Ego.

Black clouds swirled above the valley, crackling with lightning. Battling fierce wind and rain while standing on a ledge, Atsadi squeezed the last bit of Mana out of himself. In the palm of his hand, Surge was reduced to spark, struggling to even exist. Atsadi couldn’t let his Alter Ego fade away because of his actions.

The clouds parted like swelling sea, and Shenlong’s serpentine figure emerged. The dragon glared at Atsadi, horns glistening like motionless flames. Atsadi froze, eyes widening at the Eidolon before him. Forgetting water streaming down his face and cold chilling his body, Atsadi knelt down and raised his hand to present the flickering spark that Surge had become.

Shenlong growled like rolling thunder. The dragon’s mane danced in air as though the creature were the very embodiment of typhoon. Lightning bolts slashed across heavens while wind took on stormy scent. Clouds opened up and began to whirl above Atsadi’s head. Atsadi closed his eyes, begging with all that he had, praying before the cyclone, waiting to be struck by lightning to revive Surge.
