Role in Automata Project
Ada Lovelace provides programming expertise for the Axiom’s Automata project. Several prototypes have been designed and tested with results that are more than encouraging, relying notably on Ada’s programming talents.
Work with Sierra
388 AC - Operating System Development
In 388 AC, Sierra summoned Ada Lovelace to help perfect the concept of using Alteration modules as an operating system for Automata. Sierra worked in a deserted lecture hall with assembly plans and a cryptex similar to Constructs on the table, lined with the khyalo alphabet. The idea was to allow Automata to react to their environment and think for themselves.
Ada reviewed Sierra’s diagrams, annotating them with comments about elegant aesthetics, functional mechanics, and circuits needing redesigning. Ada activated the control module by inserting it into a robotic head, then placed a cube, pyramid, and sphere in front of the robot and told it to look at the cube. The module rearranged in real time, and the head turned to the correct object. Ada smiled, visibly impressed by the successful test.
