Sierra

Overview

Sierra is an Axiom Exalt, engineer, and Alterer specializing in Constructs who serves as vanguard in the Expeditionary Corps. Born within a Lyra caravan of the Tisdhera Clan, she lost both legs to Tumult exposure during childhood and now uses prosthetic Grafts. She is bonded to Oddbal, a Chimera drone, through The Musubi.

Early Life and Discovery of Engineering

Sierra was born within a Lyra caravan, traveling from city to city with her father Efrén, who managed a small shadow theater troupe. While Sierra’s caravan traveled the roads of Asgartha, a Tumult anomaly erupted and Sierra stepped into a pool of it. Her legs chaotically mutated and both had to be amputated. She remained bedridden for many weeks before her father carried her outside again. Efrén brought Sierra to Verbera during the Prodigium, the Axiom’s World Exposition, where she was fitted with rudimentary racing blade Grafts at prosthetist Hamisu’s workshop. The Prodigium captivated her with its technical wonders, particularly a mechanical doll performing dance steps. Sierra visited Hamisu daily to learn about mechanics, pyrotechnics, and kelonic batteries. When the caravan prepared to depart, Efrén offered Sierra the choice to continue with the caravan or pursue technical apprenticeship—she chose to stay. Hamisu taught Sierra the basics to qualify as an Apprentice, then she traveled to Arkaster and secured a position at The Foundry.

Career at the Foundry

Sierra arrived at The Foundry as a new Apprentice. She participated in a competition for spots in The Fulcrum but was not selected despite one of the Three Little Pig Eidolons nodding approvingly at her work. Following rejection, Sierra worked to learn metalworking and Alteration. After six years, Sierra joined the Parallax, the Axiom Guild working on Alteration. After eleven years of apprenticeship, she achieved Journeyman status by presenting Automata as tribute to her father’s puppeteer profession.

Bond with Oddbal

Sierra met Oddbal when the drone transformed into a Chimera. Studying the creature awakened curiosity about what existed beyond Asgartha’s borders. They connected through The Musubi to deepen their friendship.

392 AC - Workshop Leadership with Aberdeen

Sierra ran her own workshop at The Foundry with Apprentice Aberdeen, investigating FarFetch malfunction that burned Subhash Kadis’s beard during explosive test.

392 AC - Field Operations with Oddbal

During The Tumult expedition, Sierra crossed oily lake separated from Oddbal and created Salvager Eidolon at his location through bond to restore damaged armor.

393 AC - Expedition into The Tumult

Sierra participated in Expeditionary Corps mission into The Tumult regions hundreds of miles beyond Asgartha, traveling in armored vehicle with caterpillar tracks toward regions rich in Kelon and rare minerals. She operated in competitive dynamic with Akesha Adhikari who sought to claim territory for Yzmir. Sierra used Tumult Jammer device to monitor parasitic ideas on her display while scouting ahead on her running blades, imbuing herself with concept of “Speed” through Alteration.

393 AC - Discovery of Storvhit

Sierra discovered Storvhit, a towering mountain with snow-gleaming summit encircled by grand halo and strange light emanating from fissure near peak. The mountain was suffused with ideas of “Snow,” “Frost,” “Ice” - possibly an Oasis. The mountain’s name resonated with her own.

393 AC - Reprocessor Repair with Vishvakarma

Sierra summoned Vishvakarma to repair a Reprocessor armored vehicle damaged by falling ice stalactites and scree at Storvhit, with the four-armed Eidolon scanning assembly plans and working in a shower of sparks while she reconfigured her Construct to power the manifestation.

393 AC - Automaton Salvage at Storvhit Gorge

Sierra retrieved her Automaton after it tumbled down a gorge at Storvhit, salvaging parts from an old armored Scrambler while Brassbugs welded a new chest plate and she promised to give the revived machine a proper name once fully repaired.

393 AC - Tumult Tsunami Survival

Oddball warned Sierra of approaching tsunami through Morse code via their spiritual bond. Massive wintry wave originated from Storvhit, and Sierra summoned Skadi and created grappling gauntlet through Alteration to reach her vehicle before impact. The tsunami struck the vehicle violently, flipping it, and parasitic ideas manifested inside the cabin. Sierra fired distress flare, and Akesha Adhikari responded from few kilometers away. Sierra summoned Little Match Girl Eidolon to banish cold while awaiting rescue.

393 AC - Avalanche Rescue Operation

When an avalanche buried Aegis soldiers at Storvhit, Sierra dispatched Oddball to drop location beacons on victims while emitting distress signals, then transformed her prostheses into snowblades using Alteration and set off to assist rescue efforts.

393 AC - Reprocessor Cliff Stabilization

Sierra used Alteration to apply the concept of sturdiness to cracking rock and materialize metallic struts when the Reprocessor armored vehicle nearly slid off a cliff edge at Storvhit, buying time for the Three Little Pigs Eidolons steering the vehicle to reverse to safety.

393 AC - Mysterious Relic Examination

Sierra collaborated with Treyst examining human-origin machine extracted from ice at Cobalt Gorge. Conducted scans revealing no internal circuitry, electric networks, or kelonic systems. Analyzed organic metal fusion properties and surface channel architecture suggesting external liquid fuel flow system with yellowish residue. Provided technical insights during Treyst’s disassembly process.

393 AC - Archaeological Research and Letter to Efrén

While resting at Storvhit Oasis, Sierra conducted soil analysis of Cais Adarra revealing milder climate century ago similar to Tilted Steppes, with sudden glaciation possibly using Alteration. Excavations around The Nilam revealed pre-glaciation human settlement including rusted tools, troglodyte dwellings, fabric, and pottery dating at least two hundred years prior, postdating The Confluence. Colony of several hundred people abandoned site before glaciation despite advanced technology surpassing Axiom Industrial Revolution by hundreds of years. Mysterious relic analysis revealed resilient alloy not matching Asgarthan materials, surface channels, mysterious cavities, and engine managing fluid without combustion system. Sierra wrote letter to father Efrén via The Talaria detailing discoveries and mentioning caravan companions Faarsan and Argiris. Letter expressed excitement about potential meeting with descendants of The Lost Tribe or other Tumult Nomads.

393 AC - Fluid Research Discussion with Subhash

Sierra met Subhash Kadis at his workbenches near The Screed’s chasm elevators to discuss research on the mysterious fluid discovered beneath the City of Scholars. Bash explained the fluid had confirmed energy properties and was stored in underground silos and tanks, but they possessed only one working machine and could not replicate it. He mentioned rumors the fluid might be organic and suggested recruiting Muna botanists, specifically Arjun, to help analyze it.

393 AC - Arrival of The Wayfarer and Reunion with Efrén

While speaking with Subhash Kadis at The Screed, Sierra spotted The Wayfarer, the Sahanka of the Tisdhera Clan, emerging from behind clouds above the crater cliffs. As gondolas descended, someone called her name—a voice she recognized immediately. Sierra embraced her father Efrén tightly, emotions overwhelming her after ten months apart. She noticed details like the curls of his mustache and a few more white strands in his hair.

393 AC, June-August - Creating Designer Drone Assistant

Sierra descended into the City of Scholars on a one-wheeler while Efrén kept pace using wires, discovering her father’s powerful Ignescence and ability to summon combat-equipped puppet Eidolons he had stored long ago.

Skills and Abilities

Sierra is a goldsmith whose hands work with precision to craft and create. She is a talented Alterer expert in manipulating Constructs, the modules used by Axiom to control Alteration. She can rearrange her Construct to combine symbols, creating complex effects. During Operator duels, she demonstrated ability to create defensive and offensive constructs.

Sierra can imbue herself with concepts through Alteration, such as “Speed” to lengthen strides and blur landscape. She can channel concepts into devices like “Sealing” into Tumult Jammer or “Dampening” for protection. She creates complex constructs through Alteration including grappling gauntlet with hook, gears, cogs, and steel plates that interlock seamlessly.

She uses monitor device to track parasitic Tumult ideas in environment. Her running blade prosthetics allow her to traverse difficult rocky terrain with rhythmic clicking sound.
