Sneezer Shroom

Sneezer Shroom is a small fungus Eidolon that purifies destabilized Mana by absorbing it through mycelial networks and releasing purified Mana through sneezing.

Appearance and Behavior

Sneezer Shroom appears as a small mushroom creature with a running nose. When it materializes, it falls backward before getting up with difficulty. Its face displays focus and seriousness during treatment, with eyes narrowed and expression tensed as if stifling a sneeze. The creature sniffles frequently while moving.

During Mana purification work, the fungus becomes irate when its nose is tickled to induce sneezing, displaying an irritated expression despite cooperating with the process.

Mana Purification Abilities

Sneezer Shroom extends mycelial networks from its feet, spreading filaments onto patient skin. These filaments absorb tumultuous or destabilized Mana, continuously gulping it up and filtering it through the fungus’s body.

When the creature sneezes (either naturally or when induced by nose tickling), it releases countless droplets of healthy, purified Mana into the air. This purified Mana can be collected and fed to patients to restore their health and stabilize their destabilized Mana.

The purification process tires patients but effectively treats Mana destabilization caused by Tumult singularities or other disruptions.

Medical Applications

382 AC - Teija Treating Village Girl

A village experienced a minor Tumult singularity that destabilized residents’ Mana without causing deaths. A young girl developed fever from the destabilization. Teija waited for the fever to decrease sufficiently before attempting Mana treatment.

Teija channeled her Mana and summoned Sneezer Shroom through mental focus. The fungus appeared, fell backward, then got up with its nose running. It stared at Teija before turning toward the patient with narrowed eyes and tensed face. The creature moved purposefully toward the child, climbed onto the bed and covers while sniffling, then looked at Teija one last time before extending its mycelial network from its feet.

The filaments spread to the girl’s skin and absorbed the tumultuous Mana continuously. The girl stirred in sleep while her father held her hand. Teija tickled the fungus’s nose to induce sneezing, causing it to release droplets of healthy Mana. Despite the Shroom’s irate expression at being tickled, Teija collected the purified Mana droplets to feed to the patient for color restoration.
