Kadri

Kadri is an instructor and tutor (affectionately called “old wolf” by Sigismar Synd) who taught Sigismar Synd during his childhood and later became his designated Alteration instructor for the Aegis.

Teaching Philosophy

Kadri took Sigismar under his wing without dwelling on his ignominious background as a descendant of Ayxas. In Kadri’s eyes, children were in no way responsible for the sins of their parents, and they had the right and duty to exist on their own terms.

He taught Sigismar that people could disregard the past with the aim of reinventing themselves at any moment. They were never condemned at birth to repeat the mistakes of their ancestors. With tolerance, Kadri led Sigismar to realize that he could change things if he wished.

Teaching Sigismar

Kadri was one of Sigismar’s tutors during his private lessons with other children of the nobility. Unlike the other tutors who took pleasure in making cutting remarks about Sigismar’s lineage, Kadri was not odious and treated him with respect and kindness.

In his spare time, Kadri taught Sigismar the basics of Alteration. This faculty was essentially the prospect of changing the world, rejecting fate, and by extension, mastering ideas. Sigismar became passionate about Heka Glyphs and their use, always in secret so his parents wouldn’t notice his growing interest in this discipline.

As Kadri had anticipated, the more Sigismar mastered this power, the more he managed to control his own feelings and emotions. With time, Sigismar touched a certain inner peace which he had never known before.

Role in the Aegis

When Sigismar became an Exalt candidate after saving the griffin Wingspan, he asked the Aegis high command if Kadri could become his designated instructor for everything related to Alteration. This request was granted, allowing Kadri to continue mentoring Sigismar as he developed into a Paladin.

Teaching Methods

Kadri taught the basics of Alteration in spare time. He focused on Heka Glyphs and their use. Kadri’s approach emphasized the philosophical aspects of Alteration as much as the technical skills, teaching it as a means of mastering ideas and changing the world.
