Shahram

Overview

Shahram is an Eidolon representing an old Bravos veteran Seiringar who served at Haven. Known for his booming voice, calloused hands, and bombastic personality, Shahram’s spirit embodies the swagger and bravado expected of Bravos warriors. As Eidolon, he continues to inspire troops through boastful storytelling and defiant attitude.

Mortal Life

Personality and Demeanor

During his mortal life, Shahram was characterized by his booming voice and flippant air. He possessed calloused hands from years of combat and training. Shahram specialized in making wisecracks and telling bawdy jokes to lift spirits, though he could abandon his flippant demeanor when genuine comfort was needed.

Relationship with Basira

Shahram served as mentor and comforter to young Basira al-Arshad decades before 393 AC. After Basira survived traumatic event, Shahram sat next to her in airship cockpit as she shivered from cold and fear. He put calloused hand on her shoulder, making wisecracks and telling bawdy jokes while congratulating her on having survived and held on until help arrived.

When Shahram noticed his approach made Basira’s guts feel twisted inside, he abandoned his flippant air and put his arms around her. He told her clumsily that it wasn’t her fault, that she didn’t have to feel guilty. Though his words were clumsy, he meant well.

Later Years and Disappointment

Almost a decade before 393 AC, Basira al-Arshad saw Shahram for final time during his mortal life. His spirits had been crushed after not being chosen to join the Expeditionary Corps. This rejection deeply affected the old veteran who had given his life to Bravos service.

Legacy as Eidolon

After death, Shahram achieved status as Eidolon, allowing his spirit to continue inspiring Bravos warriors. His Eidolon form embodies the swagger, defiance, and morale-boosting personality that defined his mortal life.

Physical Appearance

Shahram’s Eidolon appears with bulging biceps fully tattooed with his extraordinary exploits. These tattoos serve as visual record of his achievements: the storming of Vedren, the defeat of Mezzaren, and other legendary feats. His imposing physical presence commands attention even in spectral form.

Behavior and Methods

Shahram’s Eidolon laughs at sullen attitudes and looks defiantly at groups of discouraged troops. He sticks out his chest and dishes out heavy slaps on backs of listless adventurers, rousing them from despair. He boasts that in his time, no Bravos would ever have given in to despair.

Met with grumbles and protests, Shahram proceeds to recount his extraordinary exploits in great detail and with much bombast. Some Bravos shake their heads at his exaggerated stories of bravado, while others listen fascinated to the old man’s tales. Even as protests fly, Shahram achieves his goal: by firing everyone up, he warms their bodies and helps them endure harsh conditions.

Summoning at Storvhit

393 AC - Morale Boost

During Storvhit expedition, Basira al-Arshad remembered Shahram and his booming voice decades later. Watching troops huddled around fire trying to keep warm, she sensed they could use bit of his swagger. Instinctively, his Eidolon was there among them.
