Asgarthan Transport System

Overview

Asgartha has developed a multi-modal transportation system serving the capital Arkaster and the broader Peninsula.

Transport Modes

Maritime Transport

Despite recent technological advancements, maritime transport remains the most widespread means of transportation. The canals of Arkaster are crisscrossed by a myriad of vessels of all sizes, including gondolas, feluccas, and junks.

Rail Network

The rail network includes:

• Trams: Seven tram lines grid Arkaster and serve both the Terraferma and lakefront districts
• Funiculars: Eight funicular lines (1a to 8) ascend to plateaus overlooking the city, sometimes climbing along dizzying cliffs
• Trains: Two stations serve the Peninsula - Svarga Station for freight, Thule Station for passengers

Air Transport

Air routes utilize airships for both short-haul and long-haul journeys:

• Wright Altiport accommodates airships and aerial vehicles serving the rest of Asgartha
• Daedalus Terminal handles short trips to surrounding islands and the Ordis Monolith

Ground Vehicles

The democratization of Kelon has led to the emergence of numerous ground vehicles, ranging from unicycles to automobiles, including automated carriages. However, these vehicles remain seldom used, as the Asgarthan topography and infrastructure are still not well-suited for these modes of transport.

Recent Technological Advances

The entire tram network was recently converted to Kelon by Axiom, allowing Gripmen to work alone. This decision doubled the number of trams operating in the capital and streamlined passenger flows. The trams are topped with large Kelon engines and tanks to store the energy resource.

Management

The Metropolitan Transport Network (MTN) is the organization responsible for managing the capital’s transport lines, with the exception of maritime transport.
