Mantichora

Overview

Mantichora is an Eidolon creature normally bound by the Mandates of the Yzmir Faction. The creature has a serpent’s tail and lion’s head and chest. Under normal circumstances, Mantichora should not be able to be summoned.

Timeline

352 AC - Cebir Massacre

During a Bravos expedition to reclaim Cebir, Mantichora was manifested alongside Khimaira and attacked the exploring company. The Eidolons slaughtered Basira al-Arshad’s comrades, with Basira as the sole survivor. Authorities later dismissed her claims about the Eidolon attacks as hallucinations induced by cold, fatigue, and stress.

392 AC - Investigation

Afanas Korovinovich revealed to Basira al-Arshad that both Mantichora and Khimaira are Eidolons normally bound by Yzmir Mandates, meaning no one should be able to summon them. The fact that they were manifested suggests the work of a renegade Yzmir Mage—the Chrysanthemum Cloaked Warlock.
