Tanuki

Tanuki is a trickster Eidolon from Japanese folklore, known for mischievous behavior and association with Lyra performers.

Abilities

Teleportation

Tanuki can teleport using a beech leaf, disappearing and reappearing at different locations.

Performance Role

Tanuki appears in theatrical performances, often cast as comedic villain or troublemaker characters. The Eidolon can be directed to perform specific actions during shows.

Association with Lyra

Tanuki is one of several trickster Eidolons sought out by Lyra members for company and guidance. Along with Loki and Pan, Tanuki was among the Eidolons Nevenka sought for mischievous companionship.

Timeline

385 AC - Cloth Cocoon Performance

During Ehuang’s aerial ribbons act, Auraq summoned Tanuki as the villain threatening scissors, which Ehuang wrapped in a silk cocoon as part of the performance.

388 AC - Dorayaki Stage Performance

Auraq summoned Tanuki with dorayaki (sweet treat) from her low-cut top during a performance. Tanuki teleported using a beech leaf to catch the flying treat.

~393 AC - Geyser Hot Springs

Tanuki was observed squabbling with a Magpeng over who would next use the geyser launch pad at the hot springs created by Atsadi at Storvhit.
