Cwaith was the first Kuningatar (High Queen) of Asgartha, succeeding Rune after his mysterious disappearance in 42 AC. She was an administrator trained by the founding hero Caellach, who later established the Ordis Faction.

When Rune vanished without trace along with three of the The Runic Knights (Aksoy, Aldana, and Heeren), Asgartha faced its first succession crisis. After months of investigation led by Tamrat, black banners were raised over the Elysium palace and Rune’s death was officially announced. Cwaith inherited the heavy burden of succeeding the legendary founder, elected through proper process after a period of mourning.

Her reign of nearly 28 years focused on consolidating what had been established rather than aggressive expansion. Under her leadership, the living conditions of Asgarthans greatly improved. Instead of pursuing territorial expansion, she concentrated on strengthening the existing colony, ensuring stability and developing the infrastructure and institutions needed for long-term survival.

Cwaith prepared her protégé Ayxas to eventually succeed her, intending for him to continue her strategy: she would prepare society and strengthen the population, while he would later expand the nation’s sphere of influence. This careful planning for succession demonstrated her administrative wisdom and concern for Asgartha’s future.

When she relinquished her crown in 70 AC, the subsequent elections were largely a formality, as Ayxas was beloved by the people and faced no real competition. Cwaith’s reign established important precedents for peaceful succession and the viability of governance without the founding generation’s mythical figures.
