Age of Concord
Overview
The Age of Concord was the era spanning from the founding of Asgartha in 0 AC to the proclamation of the Age of Rediscovery in 392 AC. This period marked the blossoming of civilization and its enduring establishment, though it saw dark hours and bloody periods.
Beginning
The Age of Concord began with The Concord, when Rune proclaimed the treaty binding all Tumult Nomad tribes into one people. The Phoenix crowned Rune as first Kuningas at Kuningasplatz, and the Trusted Council of Runic Knights was established to govern the new nation.
Major Periods
Rune’s Reign (0-42 AC)
Rune governed Asgartha for over forty years, surrounded by the Runic Knights. The era ended with The Vanishing when Rune and three Runic Knights disappeared mysteriously.
Cwaith’s Reign (42-70 AC)
Cwaith, the first Kuningatar, succeeded Rune and focused on strengthening the existing colony rather than expansion. Living conditions for Asgarthans greatly improved during her reign.
The Torment (70-86 AC)
The Torment was a dark period of tyrannical rule under Ayxas, marked by the creation of The Castigar and The Magan, suppression of the Factions, and eventual uprising that restored order.
Stabilization and Growth (86-392 AC)
Following The Torment, Asgartha entered a long period of gradual stabilization and growth. The six Factions (Axiom, Bravos, Lyra, Muna, Ordis, Yzmir) developed their distinct roles in society. Various conflicts occurred including The Severance War, The Three Factions War, and The Fratricidal War.
End
The Age of Concord ended in 392 AC when Avkan ruun-Heshkari proclaimed the Age of Rediscovery, launching the Rediscovery Endeavor to explore Terra Incognita beyond Asgartha’s borders.
Legacy
The dating system Anno Concordiae (AC) commemorates this era, with all Asgarthan dates calculated from the founding moment. The Concord itself became the foundation of Asgarthan society—a commitment to cooperation for the common good.
