Teaching Role
Baxsan serves as instructor for advanced Glyph training. She agreed to teach Gulrang after Venka put them in touch. Baxsan is recognized as big-name Runic Scribe with extensive Glyph vocabulary.
Teaching Methods
Baxsan demonstrates infinite patience with errors and indecisiveness. She corrects mistakes without frustration and allows students to work at own pace. After theoretical instruction, she moves to practical work involving dueling with Glyphs.
Glyph Vocabulary
387 AC - Teaching Gulrang
Baxsan indicated symbols for Gulrang to trace on vellum. Endless series of ideograms included:
- Shackle
- Darkness
- Passage
- Weathervane
- Wall
- Labyrinth
- Lagoon (difficult symbol)
- Sharp (difficult symbol)
Gulrang stumbled over some symbols, especially Lagoon and Sharp. Baxsan corrected errors with infinite patience. After more than two hours deciphering Glyphs, Baxsan closed book and moved to center of writing circle inviting Gulrang to join.
Practical Dueling
Baxsan transitions from theory to practical application through dueling exercises. She places Glyphs on ground blasting with thousands of lightning bolts. Under pressure of palm, stone blocks spring from floor. Students must create counters - lightning rods, insulators, or other responses.
When Gulrang placed own Glyph on armor transforming into insulating suit and entered dueling area, Baxsan smiled in approval.
