Codex Linificus
Overview
The Codex Linificus is a treatise authored by Fenn examining Mana theory and the Muna concept of The Skein.
Contents
Mana and Ideas
The treatise proposes that Mana serves as “the cement that binds an idea to existence.” Fenn documented the Muna claim that Mana does not operate in isolation—every idea can be broken down into other ideas linked together.
The Skein Network
The Codex describes the Skein as a network of Mana tasked with linking ideas together. Through this network, ideas shape composite concepts to form things and individuals—what is considered a whole. The Muna vision opens the question of whether things and individuals could be linked on a macroscopic scale.
Niavhe and Kaibara
Fenn documented the Muna assertion that the union of Niavhe and Kaibara awakened humans to the perception of the Skein network. The Codex poses the question of whether examining this account could shed light on how a Leviathan could allow humans to perceive it.
Influence
Saul, a Leviathan researcher and brother of Sol, studied the Codex Linificus. The treatise inspired his belief that understanding Leviathans rather than hunting them could reveal more about the world and potentially allow humans and Leviathans to coexist.
