The Codex
Overview
The Codex is the comprehensive body of laws developed and maintained by the Ordis faction. It serves as the legal framework through which The Tetrarchy implements its decisions.
Development and Maintenance
The Ordis develops and maintains the Codex within The Anthill, the lower part of The Monolith, where a myriad of cabinets and offices work on legal matters. Clerks and administrative officers carry messages and documents while decrees are signed and bills ratified.
Influenced by the precepts of the Lyra, the Ordis holds that order must constantly evolve and adapt. The Codex is therefore not static but continuously refined to meet changing circumstances.
Judicial Application
Within The Anthill, the Tribunal uses the Codex to dispense justice. In this vast hall, those who have transgressed are judged, hear verdicts, and receive sentences under the impartial gaze of the Eidolons.
After major orientations are determined by The Tetrarchy and passed through popular vote, they are concretized into official decrees that become part of the Codex.
