Council of Archons

Overview

The Council of Archons was the ruling body of Asgartha during the period known as “The Reign of the Four Factions,” governing from 130-194 AC.

Historical Context

This period followed the reign of Ekaterina ruun-Caellach, who realized that the growing population was starting to feel cramped. She sensed that the key to the future lay in the untouched lands of the Peninsula.

She knew that the four Alteration Factions - Ordis, Bravos, Yzmir, and Lyra - were best suited to lead the settlement of these largely unexplored territories. She decided to delegate power to them with the goal of achieving this objective, under the condition that the Factions return it at the completion of their endeavor.

Duration

The Council of Archons ruled for 64 years (130-194 AC), after which power transitioned to Nerveti Ensar, beginning the Federation period.

Government Type

This period represented an Epistocratic Oligarchy - rule by the most knowledgeable, in this case the four Alteration Factions.
