Amarok

Overview

Amarok is a giant wolf Eidolon that manifests with enormous proportions and frost-covered fur. The creature possesses voracious hunger and appears similar to folklore depictions of the Big Bad Wolf. When summoned, Amarok materializes through fog and mist that shimmers and takes shape as the air vibrates.

Appearance

Amarok begins as fog and mist before the figure grows larger and takes wolf shape. The creature possesses huge fang-filled maw capable of swallowing a person whole in single mouthful. As it runs, the wolf assumes gigantic proportions while its fur becomes covered with thin layer of frost. Its stare is opalescent and its canine teeth are the size of grown humans. The beast has oversized legs that allow it to catch prey in single stride.

Behavior

Amarok demonstrates predatory behavior, charging through forests and flattening trees like stalks of wheat when pursuing targets. The creature’s lips curl up in carnivorous grin when catching up to prey. Movement triggers the creature to chase, making stillness important when attempting to redirect its attention toward other targets.

Summoning at Storvhit

393 AC - Kojo’s Summoning

During Storvhit expedition, Kojo Oduro summoned Amarok despite Atsadi’s instructions not to call upon the creature. Atsadi had intended for Amarok to focus on Belisenki threat, requiring that Kojo Oduro’s companion remain completely still without blinking.

However, someone ordered Cathal to run away, causing Amarok to lose interest in the enemies and instead charge through pines pursuing Cathal. The creature flattened trees in its path while growing to gigantic proportions with frost forming on its fur. Cathal used trees for support and Alteration to push forward, but Amarok caught up in single stride with oversized legs. Cathal dashed to tree trunk then leapt into air, landing on wolf’s fur rather than being caught in its jaws.
