Kojo Oduro
Overview
Kojo Oduro is a Bravos Exalt and Alterer known as the Slayer of Kraken and Hero of Asgartha. He is bonded with his Alter Ego Booda, a cheetah Chimera, through The Musubi ceremony. Kojo received the Carnelian Crown from Basileus Avkan ruun-Heshkari for defeating the Kraken.
Background
Even as a child, Kojo was known as a daredevil. His mother Tehea was a skilled woodworker from the Wood Guild specializing in luxury marquetry, and his father Yawo owned a small convenience store under the Cornucoopia brand. His older sister Gulrang was his opposite—stern and devoid of humor. His father asked him to deliver groceries to help the elderly, which suited him as he explored the sprawling alleys of the capital. When he came of age, Kojo applied to The Talaria, becoming a courier.
Like many kids, Kojo’s hero was Rune, and he heard from Venka about the prophecy that whoever found Rune in The Tumult would be his successor. One afternoon while climbing slopes, Kojo saw acrobats using Alteration to create stone pylons and glass slides—his introduction to Altrun. He began training in early mornings, studying old competition archives.
After approaching runners at the Speedster’s Den tavern, Kojo met Uju, Cathal, Carmela, and Gault. The reception was initially cold but Uju insisted on giving him a chance. When Kojo’s first match came, Gault gave him a discreet nod and Kojo won his first race. That evening, Gault kissed Kojo. Years passed as the team’s reputation grew.
One evening, Kojo walked on the heights of the city and saw a shimmering Tumult Singularity. As the cloud disappeared, he discovered a small cheetah whose fur was made of cold flames. Finding no parent Chimera nearby, Kojo took in the animal and named him Booda.
Kojo realized his childhood dream had never left him—to find Rune. Gault supported his decision and helped process his file at the Monolith. The following year, Kojo and Booda bonded through The Musubi ceremony.
