Hestia

Overview

Hestia is an Eidolon who serves as culinary director at The Mess, the Bravos canteen at The Screed outpost. Known as the Mistress of the Mess, she runs a strict kitchen where everything on the plate must meet her exacting criteria.

Kitchen Management

Hestia’s kitchen is off-limits to non-brigade members. She paces behind the burners, barks orders, tastes kitchen hands’ creations, adds Sap, and watches cook times precisely. Those whose pots differ from her specifications face her anger. Even Kaizaimon watches his step around her.

During rare breaks, Hestia sits next to diners and watches their expressions. If there is no smile after the first mouthful, she grabs the dish and returns to the kitchen, only to return with an improved version.

Hestia is particularly generous with children’s menus, believing that proper nutrition is crucial at young ages and that a level head starts with a full belly. Teija observed heaping mounds placed before children at The Mess, noting that Nauraa mentally agreed with Hestia’s philosophy.

Sap Cuisine

Since discovering the flavor and nutritional qualities of Sap, Hestia adds it to all her specialties. Her menu includes:

  • Famous stew (the classic dish everyone must try)
  • Turbot with julienne of Undergrowth vegetables
  • Sap canapés
  • Various other “fancy little dishes” whose recipes she never shares
