Snow Maiden

Overview

Snow Maiden is an Eidolon who sculpts ice into living animal forms and sings melancholy songs in frozen forests. She was considered as a candidate for Storvhit patronage but ruled out because she needed cold to exist rather than being able to generate it.

Appearance

Snow Maiden appears as a beautiful young woman with pale skin wearing a snowflake-shaped crown on her head. Ice flows from her fingertips when she sculpts.

Abilities

Ice Sculpture

Snow Maiden creates living ice animals by sculpting ice that flows from her fingertips. Her creations include rabbits, fawns, and foxes with streamlined bodies, delicate paws, slender snouts, and bushy tails. The sculptures come to life and frolic around her in circles.

Melancholy Song

Snow Maiden hums soft, somber melodies with crystalline quality in frozen forests. Her songs shift between melancholy and cheerful tempos. The singing conveys profound loneliness.

Spontaneous Manifestation

Snow Maiden manifests at Storvhit without being summoned, one of many Eidolons appearing spontaneously in the frozen expanses. This unusual frequency of unsummoned manifestations prompted observers to question why Eidolons appear even to those with no memory of them.

Storvhit Patronage Consideration - 393 AC

Following Kuraokami’s liberation from The Nilam, various Oneiros candidates were evaluated to replace the dragon as patronage for Storvhit’s arctic climate. Snow Maiden was ruled out because she needed cold to exist but could not generate it, unlike Jack Frost who was selected for the role.

Timeline

~393 AC - Encountered by Rin at Storvhit

Rin followed Snow Maiden’s melancholy song through ice-covered forest where everything had a bluish hue. An ice rabbit dashed between Rin’s legs, followed by an ice fawn, leading Rin to discover Snow Maiden turning in place while sculpting ice animals that came to life and frolicked around her. The feeling of loneliness that had haunted Rin gradually faded as she watched.
