Jack Frost

Overview

Jack Frost is Oneiros embodying winter and frost concepts. Selected as replacement patronage for Storvhit following Kuraokami’s liberation in 393 AC. Appointed to maintain arctic climate of Caer Nilam Province through permanent embodiment in region.

Nature and Concepts

Jack Frost possesses immanent nature that best embodies kind of winter necessary for Storvhit biome survival. Unlike other Oneiros candidates (Snow Queen, Baron Kelvin, Dong Da Shen, Santa Claus), Jack Frost’s approach to role was not human-centered. Entity capable of generating and sustaining cold rather than merely needing cold to exist (unlike Snow Maiden or Yeti who were ruled out).

Selection as Storvhit Patronage - 393 AC

Replacement Priority

After Kuraokami’s liberation caused Storvhit temperatures to rise with snow, glaciers, and ice caps melting at alarming rate, replacing dragon became undeniable priority. Winter Folk required safeguarding and drastic measures needed to prevent unique ecosystem deterioration.

Candidate Evaluation

Many potential candidates among Oneiros considered for patronage of Winter Folk and Belisenki:

Considered but Deemed Too Human-Centered:

  • Snow Queen
  • Baron Kelvin
  • Dong Da Shen
  • Santa Claus

Ruled Out (Insufficient Capability):

  • Snow Maiden: Needed cold to exist but could not generate it
  • Yeti: Needed cold to exist but could not generate it

Final Decision

Jack Frost selected based on immanent nature. Despite protests about constant mischief, decision was not about human governance or administration but about presence of entity capable of sustaining cold. Jack Frost’s nature allowed him to maintain environmental conditions necessary for biome survival.

Role at Caer Nilam

Permanent Embodiment

Following selection as patronage, maintaining permanent embodiment of Jack Frost in Caer Nilam area became crucial responsibility. Contingents must remain to stabilize, reinforce, and ensure longevity of Oasis, especially by maintaining Jack Frost’s permanent presence.

Governance Oversight

Task of maintaining Jack Frost’s embodiment will not be easy, especially with political pressure and public opinion expected to peak in coming months and years. Governor appointed to oversee Caer Nilam Province bears heavy responsibility for this maintenance.

Climate Maintenance

Jack Frost’s presence provides artificial climate maintenance for Storvhit region, replacing function previously served by imprisoned Kuraokami. Ensures continued survival of Winter Folk, Belisenki, and unique arctic ecosystem established during Kuraokami’s imprisonment period.

Eidolon Adaptation - Early 393 AC

Before selection as permanent patronage, Jack Frost was among Eidolons recommended for diversified summoning to alleviate burden of Storvhit’s endemic cold during Rediscovery Endeavor operations. Along with Snow Queen and Skadi, Jack Frost represented lesser-used Eidolons being explored or rediscovered for adaptation to arctic environment where abilities would prove invaluable.

Performance at The Screed - 393 AC

Jack Frost performed ice sculptures at The Stage, the Lyra mobile performance venue at The Screed outpost. His appearance was part of the entertainment roster alongside Kasirga Clan acrobats, with upcoming acts including Nyala, Auraq, and the band BLISS!.
