Aedyt

Aedyt is an Ordis Alterer and member of The Raptors, an elite Tagmata platoon commanded by Zhen. She has red hair. Despite being anxious and often last in obstacle courses during training, she proved to be the bravest member of her regiment during a Singularity crisis. Aedyt uses Heka to construct paper wings from Glyph-inscribed sheets derived from Zephyr’s feathers, enabling her to fly alongside the Raptors.

Background

Aedyt joined Aegis infantry and was often last or second to last in obstacle courses. Other recruits accused her of undermining their efforts, claiming her performances affected overall regiment performance, and she faced mockery that bordered on harassment. Gulrang Oduro offered her the chance to return to civilian life or transfer to administrative corps on multiple occasions, but Aedyt refused each time.

Timeline

382 AC - Alterer Rescue at Kurung

Aedyt was the only soldier to enter Tumult winds at The Kurung to pull an Alterer from a forming Singularity while the rest of the regiment ran for cover, changing the regiment’s perception of her.

393 AC - Expeditionary Fleet Launch

Aedyt participated in The Raptors’ reconnaissance mission over The Tumult with Zephyr leading the squadron. After landing on Mandjet, she ran her hand over the damp surface of a gargoyle that had accompanied them, then took her place in the honor guard as an Alterer.

393 AC - Paper Wing Flight

Aedyt translated Glyph ideas contained within Zephyr’s feathers into inscribed paper sheets that unfolded into wings on her back, a process that initially required intense concentration but became increasingly natural with practice.

393 AC - Valley Scouting

While perched on a rocky peak during a Raptors scouting operation, Aedyt attracted flocks of curious birds and shared a sensory perception through The Gestalt — the scent of coffee from her thermos and the sight of a water sphere about to burst — prompting Gulrang Oduro to order an evacuation.
