Alterers

Overview

Alterers are individuals who specialize in Alteration, having developed their ability to influence the world by taming the unstable energy of Mana. While all humans possess the capacity for Alteration, Alterers have made it their specialty through innate talent or relentless effort (see Accessibility).

Factional Affiliations

While some Alterers claim no particular affiliation, the majority choose to belong to one of the six Factions of Asgartha. Each faction has developed its own distinctive Alteration style (see Faction Styles).

Bonding with Chimerae

When an Alterer forms a bond with a Chimera through The Musubi, the resulting pair is called an Exalt, gaining abilities suited to venturing into The Tumult.

Vulnerabilities

The Oblivion, an affliction documented at the City of Scholars in 393 AC, can sever Alterers’ connection to their Eidolons, causing them to forget beings they had always been able to summon (see Vulnerabilities).
