Berchad

Overview

Berchad is the pigeon fancier of the Kasirga Clan, maintaining the pigeon loft aboard The Ouroboros. He is described as “Old Berchad,” suggesting his age and experience.

Role

Berchad is busy attaching messages to the legs of his winged messengers in the pigeon loft, where doves and flying martens coo. On the day of Cayrat Steinn’s death, there were many messages, more than usual.

Interaction with Fen

When Fen brought him a small frail bird, asking him what she should do to save it, the pigeon fancier assured her that he would take care of it. But in exchange, she had to go see her parents without delay, and without getting lost in unnecessary detours.

He somewhat revived the bird that would become Juju, caring for it in his pigeon loft.
