Chaghagan

Overview

Chaghagan, nicknamed “Chagha,” is a Bravos Trailblazer serving with the Expeditionary Corps. Known for being solid and taciturn as rock, Chaghagan specializes in rescue operations and heavy digging work during avalanche recovery missions. He served alongside Basira al-Arshad and Catriona during the Storvhit expedition.

He operates efficiently with minimal communication, responding immediately to signals like Basira al-Arshad’s whistle during rescue operations.

Avalanche Rescue Operations

393 AC - Storvhit Avalanche Response

During Storvhit expedition, avalanche buried path cleared by Alterers on steep slope under white carpet of snow. Response team arrived over five minutes after avalanche hit, with ten minutes elapsed since initial disaster. Time continued ticking away as rescue operations commenced.

Basira al-Arshad used probe to search through thick layer of packed snow, piercing frozen blanket repeatedly while moving forward. When Basira felt resistance in probe and removed glove to whistle with fingers, Chaghagan arrived almost immediately at her side with shovel in hand, leaving deep furrows in snow from his heavy steps.

Basira showed him where to dig and continued her assigned task with probe. Chaghagan dug while Axiom engineer’s Alter Ego circled overhead beeping. Time seemed both standing still and moving faster than grains of sand from broken hourglass. Fortunately, Alter Ego had managed to drop beacons indicating approximate whereabouts of victims, otherwise their fate would have been sealed much earlier.

Chaghagan finally dug something up - small animal with white fur, probably one of region’s local species. Basira clenched teeth to keep from cursing, having hoped they had found one of their own. Chaghagan took animal he’d just freed, revealing another just underneath which shook itself off. The Trailblazer had mop of pink hair, making Basira smile as she wondered what bet he lost to have had to dye it that color.

Working Relationships

Basira al-Arshad identified Chaghagan alongside Catriona as being in good hands for looking after her little protégé (likely Aoife). Chaghagan’s solid and taciturn nature complements Catriona’s dedicated and calm demeanor, while Aoife’s tendency to take risks is balanced by having people to provide care and support.
