Tehea

Tehea is a skilled woodworker from the Wood Guild who specializes in luxury marquetry and ebony work. She is the mother of Gulrang Oduro and Kojo Oduro, and the wife of Yawo.

Profession and Skills

Tehea is a skilled woodworker specializing in luxury marquetry. She works with ebony and other fine woods, using Alteration in her craft. She would sometimes show Gulrang how she worked with wood using Alteration, seeking to instill in her daughter the necessary knowledge to take over the factory.

Tehea works at a factory where she practices her craft. Even when pregnant with Kojo, she continued to work, demonstrating her dedication to her profession.

Family

Tehea is married to Yawo, who owns a small neighborhood grocery store under the Cornucoopia brand. Together they have two children:

  • Gulrang Oduro: Their older daughter who became an Ordis Exalt and Aegis captain
  • Kojo Oduro: Their younger son who became a Bravos Exalt known as the Slayer of the Kraken

Relationship with Gulrang

When Gulrang was twelve years old, Tehea was pregnant with Kojo. She would take Gulrang to the factory and show her woodworking techniques. Gulrang would accompany her mother to work, though the young girl was more interested in watching Aegis sentinels parade through the streets than learning the family trade.

When Gulrang was fourteen and determined to join the Aegis, Tehea and Yawo tried desperately to persuade their daughter to change her mind. They warned her that the life of a soldier would be dangerous and the existence would be hard. However, Gulrang remained steadfast in her determination.

Facing their daughter’s stubbornness, Tehea and Yawo were at a loss. Eventually they relented. As if to punish Venka for putting this fixed idea in their daughter’s head, Tehea insisted that the veteran prepare Gulrang to join the Aegis ranks.

Personality

Tehea is hardworking and skilled in her craft, continuing to work even while pregnant. She hoped to pass her woodworking skills and business to Gulrang but came to accept her daughter’s different path. Despite her initial resistance to Gulrang’s military ambitions, she ultimately supported her daughter’s choice.
