Kuth Kanat
Overview
Kuth Kanat is a Terraferma district of Arkaster, located on the western shore of Sforafjord on the Kemeri peninsula. Like its twin slope on Kuna, the district is home to ancient troglodyte palazzos carved into the vertiginous cliffs.
Architecture and Layout
An epitome of bourgeois neighborhoods, Kuth Kanat features sumptuous residences as well as numerous temples. The entire area is interwoven with a maze of stone bridges, walkways overlooking the void, and levitating elevators connecting the fjord waters to the hanging gardens of the Yzmir Bastion.
The Kadigir
At the summit of the rocky promontory sits the Kadigir, the Alteration School of the Yzmir Sorcerers. An impressive irrigation system channels water from a high-altitude lake, the Ayna, to the verdant terraces, before supplying the workshops of the Axiom Bastion below.
New Exchequer
Kuth Kanat is home to the minor Houses of the New Exchequer, where approximately forty families forming the “New Nobility” of Asgartha have settled.
Resident Houses
Among the venerable names settled in Kuth Kanat are House Arundhani, House Akadori, House Dewitt, and House Sune.
Axiom Investment
Despite the separation from the Old Nobility, the Houses of Kuth Kanat have no reason to feel inferior in terms of ancestry. By investing in the Axiom, these minor Houses made a shrewd move. The influence and wealth of the New Exchequer now rival that of the Old Nobility.
The Fair Game
There is little true animosity between the noble Houses of Kuth Kanat and Tesh Kanat. Both the Old and New Nobility have affectionately nicknamed their diplomatic conflict the “Fair Game.”
