Abelen Sundström

Overview

Abelen Sundström was a Bravos explorer celebrated as the most fearless explorer Asgartha has ever known. Daughter of Bravos messenger Gusta Sundström, she made her fortune through geographic discoveries and used her wealth and fame to launch further expeditions.

Discoveries

Accompanied by her Lyra boatswain Maya Vastag, Abelen discovered an island far off the coast of the Peninsula, which was named Abelena after her. She also found a new passage between Suspira and the capital that winds through the Undersea and connects to Abelena, cutting journey time in half by passing between the reefs.

She used her wealth and fame to launch expeditions to the east, where she mapped new shores which she named “Keleti”.

Legacy

Basileus Avkan ruun-Heshkari cited Abelen Sundström alongside Rifat Asdrubal as explorers whose exploits inspired his childhood dream that eventually became the Rediscovery Endeavor. Grand Admiral Temera Singh stated that possessing even a fraction of Sundström’s courage would content her.
