Carmela is a Bravos Altrun tracer and team captain who competed in the Altrun finals at the Colosseum. She was trained by Basira as one of the orphan children and developed into a skilled athlete, though her tendency to go overboard while showing off sometimes led to injuries.

391 AC - Colosseum Finals
Carmela competed as a tracer in the Altrun finals held at the Colosseum. Her team had qualified at the eleventh hour, making their presence in the championship match itself a significant achievement. Kojo Oduro attended as a spectator to support her.
At the starting line, Carmela tapped her foot to knock dirt off her soles. The crowd in the Colosseum was incredible, with both teams’ flags flying in the stands and supporters’ voices growing insistent as the race approached. When the gunshot rang out, tracers rushed forward while Alterers from both teams modified the field to help their racers advance and hinder opponents.
The course continuously shifted and transformed to spectators’ amazement. Tracers leaped, twisted, and flitted while adapting to the changing environment. Their acrobatics elicited gasps while their falls drew frustrated cursing. The tracers gradually climbed a promontory raised in the middle of the arena, with the goal of reaching the top and capturing the flag.
If Carmela’s team won this race, they would claim the title—a remarkable accomplishment for a team that had barely qualified.
Training with Basira
374 AC - Ankle Injury
During a training excursion with Basira and other orphan children, Carmela sprained her ankle after going overboard while trying to show off. She was described as a real tomboy and real stubborn. She held her ankle while wincing in pain as other pupils gathered around her.
Basira examined Carmela’s foot while she gritted her teeth. The injury was determined to be a simple sprain rather than something serious. Basira summoned Chiron, the centaur Eidolon, to provide medical treatment. Chiron scratched his beard and sighed upon seeing Carmela laid out on the ground with fists clenched more from frustration than suffering.
Chiron retrieved bandages and ointments from his satchel and treated her ankle while other orphans rested or explored. Once her ankle was fully wrapped, Chiron hoisted Carmela onto his back. She clung to him, letting fatigue and dejection wash over her. Basira asked Chiron to bring Carmela back safely to the capital while the rest continued their excursion. Basira hoped that along the way, Chiron would offer sound advice, just as he had done for Basira when she played the daredevil in her youth.
