Jusaka Blaze

Overview

The Jusaka Blaze is an Altrun team based in Arkaster. The team is known for reaching the finals of The Omnium, the annual Altrun championship, and eventually winning the cup. Their mascot and emblem is Booda, the flame-furred cheetah Chimera belonging to team member Kojo Oduro.

Headquarters

The Jusaka Blaze uses the Speedster’s Den as their headquarters. This tavern’s terrace serves as a gathering place for the team to meet, plan routes, and socialize.

Team Members

The core team consists of:

• Carmela - Team captain, known for giving advice and eventually leading the team to Omnium victory
• Kojo Oduro - Former courier who joined the team and became a skilled runner before leaving for the Expeditionary Corps
• Uju - Welcoming member who insisted on giving Kojo a chance when others doubted him
• Cathal - Initially critical member who eventually became supportive
• Gault - Provided constant emotional support and encouragement, romantic partner of Kojo

Team Culture

The Jusaka Blaze functions as a second family for its members. The team demonstrated strong mutual support:

• Carmela stayed late evenings to give Kojo advice during his training
• Uju gave Kojo new shoes to help him improve
• Cathal covered for Kojo at work to allocate more training time
• Gault provided constant comfort and congratulations

Members celebrated victories together and supported each other through defeats and frustrations.

Competitive History

The Jusaka Blaze reached the finals of The Omnium, the annual Altrun championship. While they failed to win the cup initially during Kojo’s tenure with the team, they eventually achieved victory.

When Kojo attended the Omnium final as a spectator (having joined the Expeditionary Corps), he witnessed Carmela lifting the Altrun cup to the crowd’s celebration.

Mascot

Booda, Kojo Oduro’s Chimera companion, served as the mascot and emblem of the Jusaka Blaze. The powerful feline with fur made of cold flames became a distinctive symbol for the club. As an adult, Booda could even follow the team during their frantic runs.

Reputation

The team’s reputation grew over the years through competitions - both official and unofficial. Carmela discussed potential sponsors and the possibility of becoming a top-tier team as their success increased.

Support for Kojo’s Departure

When Kojo Oduro decided to join the Expeditionary Corps, the Jusaka Blaze fully supported his decision:

• Gault went to great lengths ensuring Kojo’s application was accepted
• The team defended him when Gulrang tried to dissuade him
• They helped sway the opinion of the Aegis captain
• Carmela joked “good riddance” but revealed she always knew he had potential to be much more than just a runner

The entire team attended Kojo’s ceremony to receive the Carnelian Crown, cheering from the stands. Carmela raised her fist proudly, Uju whistled at the top of her lungs, Cathal teased with a sly grin, and Gault placed a hand on his heart gazing at Kojo with warmth and encouragement.
