Imhallat
Overview
The Imhallat is a Bravos induction ceremony through which a squire becomes a full member of the faction. The ritual involves calling upon an Eidolon and asking for its blessing.
Process
A prospective Bravos member must first demonstrate sufficient will and determination to be accepted as an aspirant. A veteran Bravos then takes the aspirant under their wing as a “squire” to train and assess them. If the squire proves themselves worthy, their patron may subject them to the Imhallat ceremony.
During the Imhallat, the squire calls upon an Eidolon and asks for its blessing. If an Eidolon answers the call and agrees to take the squire under its tutelage, the squire is deemed worthy and becomes a full Bravos member.
Death Prophecy
The Eidolon who bestows its favor upon a squire during the Imhallat will forever color their existence. As part of the bonding, the Eidolon delivers an inevitable prophecy regarding the new Bravos member’s death. This prophecy becomes a defining aspect of the Bravos warrior’s life.
Distinction from The Musubi
The Imhallat is distinct from The Musubi bonding ceremony. While the Imhallat establishes a tutelary relationship between an Eidolon and a Bravos member, the Musubi creates a deeper bond that links the essences of an Alterer and a Chimera, transforming them into Exalts. A Bravos who undergoes the Imhallat may later also undergo the Musubi if they become an Alterer.
Bypassing the Imhallat
In rare cases, the Imhallat may be bypassed entirely. Kojo Oduro discovered his Chimera Booda by pure chance rather than through traditional means. The Bravos, desperate to add another Exalt to their ranks, allowed Kojo to skip the traditional squire training entirely and bypass the Imhallat ceremony. This unconventional path left Kojo feeling like an impostor—technically a Bravos, but not truly one of them.
