Booda

Overview

Booda is a Chimera Alter Ego bonded to Kojo Oduro through the Musubi ceremony. He appears as a powerful cheetah whose fur is made of cold flames, born from a Tumult Singularity near Arkaster.

Origin

Booda emerged from a small Tumult Singularity on the heights of Arkaster. Kojo Oduro discovered him as a small cheetah cub with fur made of cold flames, hearing his faint meow in a circle of flattened grass after the iridescent cloud dissipated. Finding no parent Chimera nearby, Kojo took in the altered animal and named him Booda.

Early Development

Caring for Booda as a cub was challenging. The Chimera required large amounts of Mana to prevent him from withering. Kojo Oduro’s work as a courier for The Talaria and assistance from members of the Muna faction allowed him to meet these needs regularly.

As Booda matured into adulthood, he became a powerful feline capable of following Kojo during his frantic Altrun runs. Despite his proud appearance, Booda retained a mischievous and capricious personality, acting like a naughty rascal.

Role with Jusaka Blaze

Booda became the mascot and emblem of the Jusaka Blaze, Kojo Oduro’s Altrun team. His presence and unique appearance as a flame-furred cheetah made him a distinctive symbol for the club.

The Musubi Bond

Kojo and Booda formalized their relationship through the Musubi ceremony, creating the spiritual bond between Alterer and Alter Ego. This occurred the year before Kojo departed with Expeditionary Corps, while his Altrun friends competed in the Omnium championship.

The Carnelian Crown Ceremony

During Kojo Oduro’s ceremony to receive the Carnelian Crown from Basileus Avkan ruun-Heshkari, Booda accompanied his bonded partner. When Kojo felt desperately alone approaching the dais, Booda nudged his knee with his nose and pressed into Kojo’s palm to reassure him.

At the moment the crown was placed upon Kojo’s head, Booda let out a roar that was echoed by the crowd’s cheers, affirming their shared triumph over the Kraken.

Timeline of Activities

393 AC - Belisenki Night Assault at Storvhit

Booda accompanied Kojo Oduro into combat during Belisenki night assault on convoy near Storvhit, melting frost with each step. When Gulrang Oduro grabbed Kojo’s collar warning him to take cover, Booda growled protectively. During the battle, Booda’s incandescent glow zigzagged through the icy turmoil fighting alongside expedition forces until Akesha Adhikari distributed Mana Moths chrysalides that ended the Belisenki hostility.

393 AC - City of Scholars Exploration

Booda accompanied Kojo Oduro through the tunnels of the City of Scholars as Kojo followed Atsadi. When Atsadi confronted Kojo about trailing him, Booda curled up at Kojo’s feet during their conversation and growled softly in disapproval when Atsadi harshly rejected Kojo’s request to become his apprentice.

Personality

Booda is both powerful and mischievous. Despite his fearsome appearance as a flame-furred predator, he displays the capricious nature of a playful companion. He provides emotional support to Kojo Oduro, offering comfort and reassurance during moments of doubt or anxiety.
