Transasgarthan Railway
Overview
The Transasgarthan Railway is a major railway network connecting Kestia in the east to Sadracca in the west, spanning the entire Asgarthan peninsula. Construction began in 209 AC under the direction of Kaja ruun-Aksoy and was completed in 234 AC when the two construction sites converged at Avesta.
Construction Timeline
209 AC - Project Launch
Kaja ruun-Aksoy launched the joint construction of Thule Station and Svarga Station, announcing the ambitious Transasgarthan project that would connect Kestia to Sadracca.
214 AC - Construction Begins
The two construction sites began at opposite ends of the planned route amidst general euphoria and fierce competition between the eastern and western teams.
222 AC - Arkaster Connection
Asgartha was connected by railway to Verbera, on the border of the Provinces of Caer Kettria and Caer Arcolano.
234 AC - Completion
After years of hard work, the two construction sites finally converged in Avesta, completing the main trunk line.
238 AC - Extension to Seki
The railroad extended all the way to Seki, marking the full completion of the network.
Significance
The Transasgarthan Railway represented a major engineering achievement and transformed travel and commerce across the peninsula. The project unified distant regions and facilitated the movement of goods, people, and resources between the major population centers of Asgartha.
Related Infrastructure
The railway connects to The Athanor, the Axiom’s architectural jewel, which has direct access to the Altiport with a marshaling yard and a dozen railway tracks. Trains transport machines to aerostats that disseminate technology throughout the peninsula.
