The Athanor

Overview

The Athanor is the primary research and manufacturing facility of the Axiom, located within a deep crater at the summit of the rocky edifice in Arkaster.

Structure

The facility is a glass and metal girder construction featuring walkways connecting various sections, manufacturing platforms at different levels, and a network of communication tubes and forklifts.

Transportation

The Athanor has direct access to Wright Altiport. A marshaling yard with a dozen railway tracks handles cargo. Trains transport machines to aerostats that disseminate technology throughout the peninsula.

The Nexus

At the center of the Athanor pulses the Nexus, a sphere of concentrated Kelon floating in the air. This energy core powers all equipment in the facility. Constructs are created near the Nexus.

Research Functions

The Athanor serves as a research center studying phenomena caused by The Tumult: botanists analyze Tumult-tinted plants, naturalists observe new animal species, and physicists examine Kelon and study how gravity and time have been affected by The Confluence.
