Makonis Heights

Overview

The Makonis Heights is another name for the Province of Caer Alcada, located in the eastern part of the floating Enosha peninsula, high in the clouds.

Geography

This region serves as the root of the Auriga, the highest peak on Enosha at 4,879 m (16,000 ft). The Makonis Heights constitute one of Asgartha’s most bizarre ecosystems, filled with chaotic biomorphic forms such as mounds of pink moss.

Flora

The grasses, flowers, and groves that grow in the Makonis Heights are distinctively pink or purple in coloration. The trees do not exhibit leaves but rather colored bubbles that grow on their branches. Trees from this region have been planted in The Kadigir.

Volcanic Areas

Some parts of the Heights are volcanic, with barren ground exhaling toxic vapors. Cloud banks frequently drift over the landscape, absorbing the sulfuric fumes.

Coral Forests

Other regions are covered with coral forests, resembling maritime reefs but existing on solid ground rather than underwater.
