The Kadigir
Overview
The Kadigir, also known as the Occult College, is the Bastion of the Yzmir faction. It sits at the summit of the rocky promontory in Kuth Kanat and serves as the center of magical learning for Initiates who practice The Naali.
Founding
Aysun, daughter of the first High King of Asgartha, founded the Kadigir. The location was chosen for its seclusion from the capital, its position atop high cliffs, and the presence of Tumult singularities requiring monitoring.
Location and Access
An irrigation system channels water from the high-altitude lake Ayna to verdant terraces, then supplies the Axiom workshops below. Levitating elevators connect the fjord waters to the hanging gardens above.
Structure
The Kadigir consists of esplanades, temples, and hanging gardens containing shaded alleys, terraces, ancient trees (cypresses, cedars, maples), glasshouses, orangeries, fountains, artificial streams, colonnades, temples, and observatories for studying the night sky and The Tumult.
The Five Sphere Temples
Each of the five Spheres has a dedicated temple: Eidomancy, Horomancy, Phonomancy, Kinemancy, and Gephyromancy. Each temple hosts teachers and disciples devoted to that magical discipline.
Tumult Singularities
The Kadigir contains two persistent singularities requiring constant monitoring:
The Well of Tears: An underground lake with a floating Megalith, a dormant relic that could awaken and threaten the capital.
The Black Wave: A plain of black grass in perpetual twilight darkness. Creatures occasionally emerge and must be defeated before threatening the population.
