Mandjet
Overview
Mandjet, also known as the Day Barque, is one of two magnificent flagship vessels with edged profiles that cruised the Asgarthan Protectorate. It serves as a mobile defense platform for the Ordis faction.
Design and Appearance
The Mandjet features:
- An edged profile, sharp as an arrow
- A silhouette that pierces through clouds
- Impressive size that casts shadows on landscapes below
- Magnificent construction reflecting Ordis engineering
Function and Purpose
The Day Barque served multiple defensive purposes:
- Patrolling the skies almost constantly
- Protecting the peninsula from tumultuous flows
- Defending against creatures riding The Tumult’s currents
- Serving as a mobile command center
Crew and Armament
On board the Mandjet:
- Alterers work to repel The Tumult
- Armed contingents of the Tagmata (elite troops) stand ready to intervene
- The ship represents the first line of defense against abominations threatening human communities
Combat History
The Mandjet suffered terrible damage during the last incursion of Cingula, a fierce Leviathan that regularly harasses the peninsula. This engagement demonstrated both the vessel’s military importance and the dangers faced by Ordis defenders.
Current Status
The Day Barque is currently undergoing repairs in the shipyards of the city of Sadracca. As of 393 AC, repairs are nearly complete after years of work. Once operational, Mandjet is scheduled to join the Rediscovery Endeavor as part of Sylas’s proposed plan to fly over the Tumult Depression blocking the Expeditionary Corps’ southwest path.
Relationship to Mesektet
Mandjet operated alongside Mesektet (the Night Barque) as a pair of flagship vessels. While Mandjet survived the engagement with Cingula, its sister ship was lost within The Tumult and still needs to be found.
Significance
Together with Mesektet, the two Barques represented the military might and defensive capabilities of the Ordis faction. Their constant patrols protected Asgartha from external threats, and their loss or damage significantly impacts the peninsula’s defenses.
