Ariadne is an Eidolon who assists scholars and researchers in finding information. Unlike Eidolons born from deceased humans who left marks on history, Ariadne appears to exist as a helpful spirit specifically associated with knowledge-seeking and research.

Ariadne manifests threads that guide researchers to relevant books, volumes, and information. These threads:
- Appear as physical manifestations that can be held and followed
- Lead researchers through complex library spaces like the Sanctum
- Mark specific pages within books that contain relevant information
- Veer and turn to guide searchers along correct paths
Manifestation
Ariadne can be called upon by researchers seeking specific information or anything remotely related to their research topic. The Eidolon responds to invocations and provides guidance through the thread system.

Assisting Suha’s Investigation (392 AC)
During Suha’s investigation into inconsistencies regarding the Kraken, Ariadne was called upon multiple times:
- Suha and Yanna invoked Ariadne to guide them to books and volumes related to the Kraken
- The Eidolon left threads for them to follow through the Sanctum
- Ariadne’s threads eventually led them to “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” by Jules Verne
- The specific pages marked by Ariadne’s thread contained references to “Krakens” and “Squids, of the class Cephalopoda”
This guidance proved crucial in Suha discovering the suspicious absence of proper naming records for the Kraken, unlike other Leviathans.

Yanna is responsible for materializing Ariadne at The Screed, where the Eidolon serves as the central knot from which all expedition threads diverge into the City of Scholars depths. These threads function as lifelines enabling quick return to the surface. The Qorgan placed a hidden Rhombus of the Gestalt under Ariadne’s tunic, allowing surveillance of expedition movements and discoveries through a secret Gestalt frequency whenever an Ordis member is present.
