Yanna

Overview

Yanna is an Ordis cleric of The Sanctum and covert operative of The Qorgan who assisted Suha’s investigation of the Kraken in 392 AC while secretly reporting to Wanjiru. By 393 AC, she operates at The Screed managing Ariadne’s manifestation and conducting surveillance of City of Scholars expeditions.

Background

Yanna served as a scribe in The Anthill for three years before her posting to The Sanctum. As an Ordis member, she bears the diamond Glyph tattoo on her shoulder connecting her to The Gestalt. She wears large glasses.

Timeline

392 AC - Suha Investigation

Yanna approached Yzmir Initiate Suha who was researching the Kraken in The Sanctum, assisting with the investigation while secretly reporting to Wanjiru as a test of Suha’s abilities.

392 AC - Qorgan Reveal

Wanjiru revealed himself to Suha in The Magisterium, with Yanna stepping forward from behind an obsidian column to confirm her role as Qorgan operative.

393 AC - Ariadne Surveillance Operation

Yanna materializes Ariadne at The Screed, where the Eidolon serves as the central knot from which all expedition threads diverge into the City of Scholars depths, and placed a hidden Rhombus of the Gestalt under Ariadne’s tunic to monitor expedition movements through a secret Gestalt frequency.

393 AC - Secret Legislative Influence

Yanna facilitated passage of secret laws by carefully selected individuals, transmitting directives to clerks ensuring maximum Aegis support for expedition teams to increase Ordis presence and Gestalt coverage for Qorgan surveillance.

393 AC - Thread Snap Incident

Yanna detected an expedition thread snap after sensing distress, panic, and screams through her Coalescence connection, then contacted Suha by connecting through a cadet assigned to protect her.

393 AC - Pelagonian Quadrant Expedition

Yanna participated in a scholarly expedition organized by Leocardius Sree to a floating island in the Pelagonian Quadrant, where ruins sharing architectural style with the City of Scholars were discovered. She connected to the college of linguists through an Espar to collectively translate four fresco panels documenting the City’s inhabitants’ escape—revealing they secretly gathered Sap, built a tower with a Nilam seed, and used Aerolith to levitate the upper city into the sky. During the expedition, Yanna conducted surveillance on Nadir under Qorgan orders and concluded he was not one of The Perjurers.

393 AC - Surveillance of Zhen

Yanna covertly surveilled Zhen, identified two assassination attempts against the Rear Admiral since her visit to Mandjet’s prison, intervened in the second by using a mind impulse to trip a butler carrying a poisoned drink, and consulted Suha on recruiting Zhen as an ally.

Abilities

Yanna is trained in reading body language and non-verbal signals, enabling her to assess individuals’ hidden intentions and emotional states through physical observation.

Yanna can push her Coalescence to descend along psychic links, perceiving through connected Ordis members’ senses and speaking through their voices. She can also use mind impulses to influence physical actions at a distance.

Yanna possesses a secondary psychic bond with Suha, separate from her Gestalt connection. She can close her Gestalt link and open herself to this second bond, or mute Suha’s presence by barricading it in a corner of her psyche.

Yanna serves as a linguist within Ordis, capable of connecting to the college of linguists through The Gestalt and Heka to perform collective translation work. Through Coalescence, multiple linguists can refine texts, debate phrasing, and reach consensus on interpretations.
