Kuwat Vasanti
Overview
Kuwat Vasanti is an Eidolon and former Magister of the Eidomancy Sphere within the Yzmir. They serve as the official mentor to Akesha Adhikari, recognizing in her an unextinguishable flame that could lead her high within the Yzmir hierarchy.
Role as Former Magister
Vasanti once held the prestigious position of Magister of the Eidomancy Sphere, one of five Spheres of The Naali. As Magister, they would have sat on The Magisterium, the High Council that guides the entire Yzmir Faction. Though they no longer hold this official position, having become an Eidolon, they retain significant influence and expertise within the Faction.
Mentorship of Akesha
When Akesha Adhikari felt terribly guilty about her sister Kumari Adhikari’s accident and joined the ranks of the Yzmir Disciples, Kuwat Vasanti became her official mentor. The Eidolon saw in Akesha an unextinguishable flame and supported her in her endeavor to find a remedy for her sister’s Remanence.
Under Vasanti’s patronage, Akesha trained hard, reserving her rare periods of idleness to visit her interned sister. Her zeal and Vasanti’s guidance bore fruit. Even though she had never shown any particular ambition, Akesha became the youngest apprentice to receive her master’s robe at just fourteen years old.
Supporting the Research
With Taru’s help, Akesha hoped to find a way to save her sister. On numerous occasions, she stretched time to learn more about magic and, above all, Remanence. Vasanti noticed the subterfuge, seeing her increasingly strained features and impromptu naps during magisterial classes. The Eidolon offered his help, and the young woman accepted it with relief. With the presence of her Alter Ego and the Eidolon by her side, it seemed for a moment that nothing could stop them, that with their assistance, she would inevitably find a cure for Kumari’s ailment.
The Bold Proposal
But months and years passed without any solution presenting itself. Regardless of the efforts and time invested, promising leads inevitably turned into dead ends. It was then, reluctantly, that Vasanti proposed a bold option to Akesha: to expand their research beyond Asgartha.
This proposal initially met with categorical refusal from Akesha, who could not imagine leaving her sister alone. But as disappointments and failures piled up, the idea lingered in Kesh’s mind. The possibility that the solution might lie elsewhere, in an unknown world that still had everything to offer, became increasingly difficult to dismiss.
Support for the Rediscovery Endeavor
With her sister’s blessing, Kesh summoned Vasanti to inform him of her decision to join the Rediscovery Endeavor. The Eidolon’s suggestion had planted the seed that eventually grew into Akesha’s determination to seek a cure beyond Asgartha’s borders, not only for Kumari but for all Yzmir Initiates suffering from Remanence.
Card Lore Timeline
378 AC - Assembly Before College of Mages
Kuwat Vasanti appeared before college of mages. Reputation preceded him with hint of disgrace. Awkward silence fell as he calmly walked toward dais where five Magisters sat.
Many still regarded him with unease, wavering between reverence and shame. As Ayxas’s personal adviser, he was there when rebellious monarch descended into madness centuries ago. Many rumors still circulated that it was his prompting, his whispers into sovereign’s ear, that caused reign to turn bloody.
Few dared to summon him due to past crimes. Kuwat had been one of most powerful Eidomancers in history of Asgartha, bettered perhaps only by Aysun. Ignoring his advice under moralistic excuse of poor reputation was grave oversight.
He remained dangerous - embodying sentient ideas always carries risk. No doubt still involved in sinister scheming, still hatching Machiavellian plans.
Without Kuwat, no one would have discovered that beings and things could be dematerialized to harvest Mana. All Yzmir Initiates use this ability to some extent. Achievement was to his credit.
Lindiwe considered using him - would need to walk fine line, but if managed to deceive him, could be significant weapon to add to magical arsenal. Needed ally to help avoid watchful eye of Wanjiru.
Kuwat addressed crowd, glaring at them and reproaching them for their dithering.
