Overview

Akesha Adhikari, affectionately called “Kesh,” is Yzmir Initiate and hero who specializes in Eidomancy and Horomancy. Bonded with Taru, luminescent octopus-like creature from The Tumult, forming Exalt partnership. Driven by mission to find cure for Remanence, affliction that has stricken younger sister Kumari Adhikari.

Early Life and the Well of Tears Accident

Akesha was born in an ornate troglodyte palazzo in the aristocratic district of Kuth Kanat 1. Trained from young age for political vocation, attending classes taught by tutors in music, dance, history, management, and etiquette. With birth of Kumari, three years her junior, Kesh became her sister’s primary caregiver, as their parents were occupied with diplomatic duties.

Two girls would sneak out of palazzo and climb The Kadigir’s enclosure wall, exploring magical gardens, gradually becoming darlings of The Magisterium’s teaching staff. During one escapade, stumbled upon breach in rock and followed carved chutes where water flowed upward. Unknowingly had entered The Well of Tears, sacred sanctuary of Yzmir.

Beneath underground lake, luminescent shapes danced languidly—evanescent and hypnotic images that intertwined and combined. Kumari stepped toward edge to touch spectral emanations but slipped into dark iridescent waters. Kesh rushed forward grabbing sister’s hand but own steps skidded on mossy walls. Presence appeared—woman of great beauty holding immense sword—Eidolon effortlessly seized little Kumari, pulling her from icy waters.

Kumari had ingested water, absorbing large amounts of pure Ether. Neither Baku nor Caladrius could fully restore mental health, and she remained subject to visions and bouts of gentle madness, interned within The Cloister at The Kadigir.

Joining the Yzmir and Rapid Advancement

Akesha joined ranks of Yzmir Disciples after the accident, fervently dedicating herself to study of esoteric arts. Had support of Kuwat Vasanti, Eidolon and former Magister of Eidomancy Sphere, who became official mentor. Under Vasanti’s patronage, trained hard, reserving rare periods to visit interned sister. Became youngest apprentice to receive master’s robe at just fourteen years old. Many saw her quickly ascending to The Magisterium thanks to tact and impeccable manners.

Meeting Taru and Musubi Bond

During experiment using Aether, veil between worlds thinned and creature slipped through—Taru, luminescent octopus with translucent tentacles. Taru was injured and terrified, but Akesha helped heal creature. Over weeks, built trust, and eventually bonded through The Musubi, synchronizing essences. Through this bond, Taru could sense Akesha’s emotions and intentions.

378 AC - Meeting Lindiwe Through Taru

Taru sensed presence through Veil and introduced Akesha to Lindiwe, who was using Eidomancy to help her see despite blindness.

383 AC - Exploring Kadigir Gardens with Kumari

Akesha and Kumari snuck into The Kadigir gardens, hiding from students and teachers while exploring groves and orchards.

384 AC - Seeking Alchemist’s Cure

Akesha brought saved Florets to Kadigiran alchemist Takao Cordisco, describing Kumari’s illness and begging for potion or ointment to heal her.

385 AC - Meeting Alice

After Kumari’s crisis, Alice appeared through wall and dragged Akesha through ground, showing her secrets of Aether world.

387 AC - Magical Training with Aether Fragment

Akesha held Aether fragment against chest to summon ideas from collective unconscious, attempting to summon White Rabbit to steal time for Kumari.

391 AC - Monitoring Black Wave with Baba Yaga

Akesha was assigned to monitor The Black Wave alongside Baba Yaga from isba on chicken legs.

391 AC - Summoning Sakarabru

When The Black Wave quivered and aberrations emerged, Akesha summoned Sakarabru who roared and scattered chimeric monsters.

391 AC - Banishing Chimaera Through Portal

Taru wrapped sticky legs around monster’s head while Akesha traced Signs to slow time, summoned portal, and banished aberration.

392 AC, September - Underwater Rescue of Aegis Soldiers

Akesha dove beneath surface during Kraken battle, summoned portal to dry land, and rescued Aegis soldiers swallowed by waves.

392 AC, September - Celestial Blast Contemplation

Akesha reflected on Afanas and Senka’s technique of making fire rain from sky, contemplating stars and astronomy.

392 AC, October-December - Bureaucratic Obstruction

Waru Toowoom blocked The Kadigir Mages’ authority to maintain Mandates order aboard The Ouroboros.

393 AC, February - Mana Moths Chrysalides Deployment

Akesha arrived through portal during Belisenki night assault on Ordis convoy at Storvhit, bringing Initiates and Eidolons as reinforcements. Unfurled cloth revealing collection of small curved translucent objects—empty Mana Moths cocoons made of ice/crystal with traces of blue liquid. Instructed soldiers including Gulrang Oduro to consume chrysalides quickly, each containing bitter syrupy essence coating throat. After consumption, Belisenki ceased attacking and departed, no longer perceiving expedition members as intruders due to absorbed pheromones. Solution allowed Expeditionary Corps to evade Belisenki vigilance through biological deception mechanism.

393 AC, February - Greenhouse Research Visit

Akesha visited multi-biome greenhouse at Storvhit base to deliver new plant specimen, using portal to discard ice-encrusted coat directly to quarters. Encountered Saskia Averina conducting Mana Moths research with Moyo Chibuye, observing chrysalides attached to branches and witnessing moth hatching under glass dome. Saskia explained moths emit Mana continuously after emerging from cocoon, described moths as creatures of pure idea with Mana dissipating over brief lifespan. Learned lifecycle details: two moths explosively merge scattering microscopic larvae onto snow, larvae evolve through caterpillar stage then weave ice cocoons for metamorphosis. Akesha shared existential questions about time perception with Saskia.

393 AC, February - Magpeng Theft and Icy Containment

After magpeng stole maple syrup supplies, duty officer’s hat, and Fen’s scarf, Akesha followed webbed footprints to confront thief and blasted it with icy gust sealing creature in thick layer of ice.

393 AC, February - Mana Moths Attraction

At Storvhit, Akesha observed Mana Moths swirling in silent flight diffusing Mana into air, noting moths’ presence often signals Belisenki nearby, then raised hand with Mana drop allowing moth to land and sip liquid.

393 AC, February - Summoning Aroro During Storm

During Afanas’s blizzard attack at Storvhit, Akesha watched in horror as something took possession of him turning him into puppet attacking Belisenki swarms, Ordis soldiers, Bravos fighters, and expedition members, then summoned Aroro Niski Eidolon to contain devastation.

393 AC, February - Mana Moths Manifestation Technique

Akesha combined Kinemancy with Taru using ballet movements (ballonné, déboulés, pas de bourrées, arabesques) to manifest swarm of moths by studying their behavior patterns and anatomy using Irises, with each pirouette gathering more moths into compact swarms crafted from ideas and Mana.

March 26, 393 AC - Letter to Kumari from Storvhit Ascent

Akesha wrote letter to Kumari Adhikari from deep within Storvhit heart describing harsh conditions and expedition progress through taiga and tundra. Noted proximity to Oasis center where expedition would shelter until Tumult hurricane subsides. Mentioned spending significant time talking with Saskia Averina who might help find cure for Kumari Adhikari’s condition. Letter expressed constant thoughts of Kumari Adhikari, cherishing memories of garden walks at Arkaster.

393 AC, June-August - Encounter with Sylas at Nilam Spires

While searching for Saskia Averina at Nilam Spires, Akesha felt an overwhelming shiver that led her to push open a workshop door where she found a Gephyromancer tattooist applying Aether patterns to his own skin while Sylas sat topless in the center of the room already covered in Sigils, and after Sylas spread his arms in welcome she quickly left and encountered Saskia outside who cast a stony look at the closed door.

393 AC, June-August - Crow’s Eye Descent Advice

Three nights before Teija’s descent into The Crow’s Eye, Akesha told Teija “You never know what you’ll find when you fall down the rabbit hole.”

393 AC, June-August - BLISS! Concert and Cure Lead

Akesha sat with Saskia Averina on secluded terrace at The Screed watching BLISS! stage spotlights streak across sky. Learned Moyo Chibuye left Nilam Spires to descend into City of Scholars to test connection with Mana Moths. Saskia revealed researchers found still-living larva inside The Nilam’s bark, now grown from fist-size to medium dog after being raised in lab. Saskia promised she may have found lead to help heal Kumari, asking Akesha to wait for confirmation before raising hopes.

393 AC, June-September - Merlin’s Involuntary Manifestation

Merlin materialized before Akesha in the City of Scholars labyrinth by siphoning her memories without permission—drawing from her father’s outfit, cousin’s stubble, graduation cloak, and museum scepter to shape his form—and delivered a prophecy that “Destiny is in motion… The king will awaken, and you will play your part.”

393 AC, June-September - Treating Remanence Attack in Labyrinth

While traveling with two Bravos warriors (covert Qorgan agents versed in The Naali) left by Afanas Korovinovich, Akesha applied experimental leeches from Saskia Averina to treat a pendekar suffering a Remanence attack, as ideas oozed from his tear ducts, nose, and mouth while pure concepts erupted violently.

393 AC, September - Slowing The Maze’s Collapse

Akesha participated in the Exalt operation against The Hunger in The Maze. When Treyst triggered explosive charges that detonated the Aerolith cores of the Tesseracts in a chain reaction, Akesha used her abilities to slow the collapse while Yzmir mages opened portals to evacuate the Exalts before the cataclysm buried them.

Can trace Signs in air to slow down time, summon portals, teleport beings, and channel pure ideas from collective unconscious.

Combines Kinemancy with Taru for manifestation techniques. Uses Irises (enhanced vision from Horomancy) to analyze and deconstruct observed techniques for reproduction.

Combat and Support Techniques

Can summon Eidolons including Sakarabru and Aroro Niski. Creates portals for rescue operations and rapid deployment. Traces Signs to slow time during combat. Combines dance choreography with Kinemancy to manifest Mana Moths. Manipulates ice through Kinemancy for containment purposes.
