Alelo
Overview
Alelo is a pisciform Leviathan inhabiting the Macedonian Quadrant of the Cloud Realm. Named “demon” in Samoan after a Polynesian legend, Alelo remains the least observed Leviathan by the Expeditionary Corps due to both its elusive nature and Yzmir restrictions on further observation.
Physical Appearance
Alelo resembles a moray eel or common eel in form. Like Mana Moths, Alelo is a hybrid being that straddles the boundary between The Aether and reality, making it both elusive and potentially far more dangerous than any other Leviathan endemic to the Cloud Realm.
Behavior
Alelo rarely leaves the Macedonian Quadrant, dwelling among the bones of deceased Leviathans in what Yzmir describe as an open-air cemetery. The creature reacts to any Alteration of reality, no matter how slight. This sensitivity has led Yzmir to forbid all use of Alteration within the region—the primary reason for the quadrant’s restricted access.
Despite its dangerous classification, Alelo has demonstrated more curiosity than aggression in encounters with the Expeditionary Corps. During one incursion where it shadowed a convoy, explosive spears proved sufficient to drive it away.
Timeline
393 AC - Whiplash Crossing
Alelo departed the Macedonian Quadrant to join a procession of Leviathans led by Halua through The Whiplash, creating a low-Tumult slipstream for the Expeditionary Corps armada. Upon emerging into the cyclone’s eye, Alelo coiled sharply and snapped its jaws in defiance at Zaratan before the two parted without conflict.
