Sagitta

Overview

Sagitta is an avian Leviathan prowling the Thermaic Quadrant of the Cloud Realm. Named in reference to Sagittarius serpentarius (the secretary bird), Sagitta is classified as high risk due to its extreme territoriality, having attacked Expeditionary Corps convoys on numerous occasions.

Physical Appearance

Sagitta ranks among the most impressive of the Leviathans, a titanic bird with silvery plumage and a wingspan approaching two kilometers. The feathers forming its leg extremities, wing tips, and head are deep blue, while its flight and tail feathers appear as interminable ribbons. Small purple feathers adorn its head in a crown-like formation. Its beak, small in proportion to its size, is sharp and extremely keen. Long legs terminate in razor-sharp talons.

Behavior

Sagitta plays with the floating water bubbles of the Thermaic Quadrant, whose silvery-blue reflections recall its own plumage, gliding effortlessly between these spherical masses. Extremely territorial, it has repeatedly attacked convoys conducting water recovery operations in the quadrant. However, it merely seeks to drive intruders from its territory and ceases attacks once vessels depart the region. Its nest is suspected to lie in an adjacent quadrant.

393 AC - Encounter with Expeditionary Fleet

Sagitta menaced Expeditionary Corps transport barges, pecking at a water sphere being towed by one ship, before Zhen and The Raptors lured it away using the Eidolon Nike as a blazing decoy.

393 AC - Whiplash Crossing

Sagitta joined a procession of Leviathans led by Halua through The Whiplash, consuming Mana along the route to create a low-Tumult slipstream for the Expeditionary Corps armada. The procession included Alelo, Lucan, Koi, and Zaratan.
