Mathis was one of ten elite Battle Mages of the Kadigir who participated in the coordinated assault against the Kraken in 392 AC and disappeared into the roaring waters when the meteor strike was intercepted.

Battle Against the Kraken

In 392 AC, Mathis was among the most powerful Initiates of the Kadigir deployed in the military operation to destroy the Kraken. Mathis joined nine other illustrious Battle Mages in forming a circle hovering around the imprisoned Leviathan, concentrating their Mana to call down a star from the sky.

The Mages traced complex Signs in the air to shield themselves with protective Sigils and imbued Senka with power to ascend toward the heavens and create a meteor strike. However, an unseen assailant from the horizon struck the comet mid-descent, causing it to disintegrate into blazing fragments.

During the storm of burning debris that rained down on the assembled forces, Mathis disappeared into the roaring waters. This occurred as the fiery rubble crashed into the sea, causing it to boil and smashing the wooden prison the Muna had woven around the Kraken, allowing the Leviathan to break free.

Mathis’s fate following the disappearance into the turbulent waters remains uncertain.
