Overview

The Town Square is an Ordis-managed central plaza at The Screed, located directly in front of The Corolla administrative hub. Established in 393 AC, it serves as the public forum where major legislative decisions are announced to the Expeditionary Corps.

Crier’s Desk

A crier stationed at a desk reads new edicts and announcements to assembled personnel, keeping the expedition force informed of policy changes and official proclamations.

Administrative Functions

A host of clerks are assigned to collect petitions and provide answers to common inquiries, reducing delays in processing requests from explorers. The list of requests is extensive: securing additional gear, sending messages back to Asgartha, reserving supplies from The Farm, picking up tickets for performances at The Stage, and other matters.

Expedition Archives

The Town Square maintains archives containing expedition reports from The Crow’s Eye and City of Scholars explorations. Ordis clerks oversee access to these records, which researchers consult when investigating patterns across multiple expeditions.

Military Presence

The Aegis contingents regularly emerge from the west wing where the garrison and barracks are located. They often parade through the plaza or carry out training drills while onlookers gather, awaiting the moment they will be deployed into the depths.
