Little Match Girl is Eidolon summoned by Alterers to banish cold with warmth and provide comfort. Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale character, this Eidolon provides environmental comfort, protection against freezing conditions, and distraction for those in distress.

Appearance

Little Match Girl appears as a young girl with bright red hair who sits cross-legged. She carries a small case containing a box of matches.

Abilities

Warmth Generation

Little Match Girl’s primary ability is banishing cold through warmth generation. Eidolon provides thermal comfort to summoner and potentially others in immediate vicinity during arctic or winter conditions.

Ability particularly valuable in The Tumult-affected regions where exposure, injury, and equipment failure combine with freezing temperatures to create life-threatening situations.

Sparks to Metal Creatures

When striking matches against phosphorous, Little Match Girl can transform the sparks into small robotic creatures such as metal butterflies or fireflies. These creations provide distraction and wonder for observers, particularly useful for comforting traumatized individuals.

Sustained Manifestation

Unlike Skaði who Sierra dismisses after brief tactical use, Little Match Girl appears suitable for sustained manifestation during prolonged cold exposure, suggesting lower mana cost or different summoning mechanics for environmental comfort Eidolons.

Subhash Kadis summoned Little Match Girl at The Refinery to deliver a tube of Sap for examination after a supervisor finally approved his research request.

393 AC - Comforting Nyala at Storvhit

Subhash Kadis summoned Little Match Girl to comfort Nyala, a young Lyra traumatized after falling through frozen lake ice at Storvhit. The Eidolon appeared cross-legged on the snow and carefully opened her case to retrieve matches. Each match struck against phosphorous sent out sparks that transformed into metal butterflies and fireflies, distracting her from her ordeal and helping her forget the cold.

393 AC - Post-Tsunami Survival

After surviving tsunami from Storvhit that flipped armored vehicle, Sierra stood shivering in freezing conditions. Stagnant water around her froze before her eyes forming fractal patterns. Temperature had dropped sharply with each breath sending plume of vapor into cold air.

Following distress flare launch to Akesha Adhikari, Sierra summoned Little Match Girl to banish cold with warmth while awaiting rescue. This allowed her to remain outside wrecked vehicle preparing to climb down from broken chassis without succumbing to hypothermia.
