Koi

Overview

Koi is a pisciform Leviathan inhabiting the Thessalian Quadrant of the Cloud Realm. Classified as moderate risk by the Expeditionary Corps, Koi is gentle and peaceful by nature but its playful tendencies can inadvertently endanger fleet vessels.

Physical Appearance

Koi resembles a giant koi carp approximately 1,400 meters in length. It possesses two pairs of long, slender fins resembling sails, a mouth adorned with two long appendages drifting like catfish whiskers, and a caudal fin composed of four fine petal-shaped lobes. Its coloration ranges from white to milky pink with scaly skin. The iridescent texture of its body reflects clouds and water surfaces, granting natural camouflage in the expanses it frequents.

Behavior

Koi pays little heed to human activity and displays no malice. However, its playful tendencies pose risks to fleet operations—it will follow ships and inadvertently jostle them with often abrupt movements. At worst, it shows clumsiness rather than aggression.

Bubbles swam around Koi producing sparkling droplets while the Leviathan followed him playfully above the rice fields of the Thessalian Quadrant, observed by Nadir who sketched the aerial ballet.
