Thessalian Quadrant
Overview
The Thessalian Quadrant is one of six regions within the Cloud Realm, characterized by abandoned terraced rice fields that once served as an ancient civilization’s agricultural zone. The quadrant’s current activity is rice cultivation, though primarily for study rather than large-scale production.
Geography
The quadrant features endless stepped fields arranged in terraces across floating islands. When viewed from above, the flooded paddies reflect the sky like mirrors. Obvious irrigation systems indicate sophisticated agricultural engineering by the region’s former inhabitants.
Ancient Agricultural Zone
The Thessalian Quadrant served as the agricultural center for whatever civilization once inhabited the Cloud Realm archipelago—comparable to Caer Oorun’s historical role as Asgartha’s breadbasket. Unlike the Pelagonian Quadrant, the Thessalian Quadrant contains no technological ruins, but the extensive terraced fields and irrigation infrastructure demonstrate that agriculture was deeply rooted in this ecosystem.
Current Use
Lyra personnel from The Wayfarer and The Ouroboros requested assignment to the Thessalian Quadrant, initially attracted by its serene beauty. However, they soon abandoned their contemplative pursuits in favor of canyoning and trekking through the quadrant’s terrain, which offers excellent conditions for both activities.
