Overview

Sitina is a Phoenixian Blade Dancer and member of the Phoenixian Guard who practices the rare and prestigious art of blade dancing. She wields dual swords and can enter the duende state during combat—a transcendent condition where the dancer becomes one with their art. She serves as one of the keepers of Rune’s Testament.

Blade Dancing

Sitina’s combat technique combines precise swordsmanship with dance-like movements. Her sequences are meticulous and her pacing impeccable. As a Blade Dancer, she maintains calm, controlled breathing before combat, starts movements slowly with blades tracing arabesques, accelerates into spinning motions, and executes flawless twirling with confident steps.

Dual Sword Technique

Sitina wields two swords simultaneously with exceptional skill. She maintains precise spacing between her blades and keeps her head tilted slightly during guard stance.

Duende State

The duende is a transcendent artistic state where the performer loses self-consciousness and becomes the art itself. When Sitina enters duende, her dance becomes trance-like, her body moves with perfect fluidity, her blades take on crimson gleam leaving red trails, and she can replicate complex movements instinctively without delay.

Timeline

390 AC - Training with Basira al-Arshad

Sitina underwent advanced training with Basira al-Arshad, demonstrating her blade dancing skills in a chalk-drawn circle. Other swordsmen stopped their training to watch. Basira used finger snaps to cue Sitina through three progressive stages: slow arabesques, accelerated spinning, and unleashed duende where Sitina replicated Basira’s complex katas perfectly.

393 AC - Escorting Waru’s Expedition

Sitina led a cohort of Phoenixian Guard escorting Waru Toowoom’s expedition into the City of Scholars depths. When seismic tremors struck following Waru’s Tesseracts probe, she urged retreat but deferred to the Exalt’s judgment.

393 AC - Revealing Rune’s Testament

After Waru Toowoom discovered Rune’s scroll confirming the Source of The Tumult was a fabrication, Sitina revealed the truth the Phoenixian Guard had always known. The Source was a mirage; the Guard were keepers of Rune’s Testament; the true purpose was to sail westward and rekindle the Phoenix; other Bravos had secretly joined the Tisdhera Clan aboard The Wayfarer carrying the Phoenix Egg stolen from Haven.

Physical Characteristics

Sitina bears golden tracings on her skin—patterns identical to the archaic script carved throughout the City of Scholars. These markings identify her as a Testament steward.
